The Stewpot Art Program is a community outreach program serving the homeless and at-risk populations of Dallas. Established in 1995, Today it is one of the best known and most beloved programs of The Stewpot. Artists credit the program with providing a community of like-minded individuals. It’s a space where artists and volunteers can come together to promote creativity. With crisis, comes opportunity for creativity, growth and healing.
The Stewpot Art Program is designed to help individuals gain self-confidence, develop skills, and communicate through the creative process. The program provides materials, supplies and a studio space at no cost to participants. Transformation and growth take place when a person's basic needs are met and the creative spirit is nourished.
The Stewpot Art Program provides a safe and supportive environment that keeps artists engaged. Artists remain in the program for its therapeutic and rehabilitative benefits. Art class provides an escape from the daily stressors associated with being homeless. It’s a space where artists can clear their head and find enjoyment in their day.
