Since 2008, The Stewpot serves three meals a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, at Second Chance Café at The Bridge.

The Stewpot trains and schedules 376 volunteers PER WEEK to help with meal service, and spends over $200,000 annually on non-reimbursed meal costs, overhead and training.


In June 2016, we celebrated 7 million meals served to our homeless and at-risk clients


Second Chance Café 

Located at 1818 Corsicana within The Bridge Homeless Assistance Center.  

Volunteer Sign Up- is ongoing for meals every day, year round at the following times:

  • Breakfast 7:30 – 8:30 am
  • Lunch Noon – 1 pm
  • Dinner 6 – 7 pm

Volunteers must arrive 30 minutes in advance of service for assignments, and MUST be prescheduled. Youth volunteers MUST be 14 or older and accompanied by a parent or youth group leader – no exceptions. The adult must call/e-mail to schedule the youth volunteer service commitment.

Meals at The Stewpot 

At our Young Street location, we pass out pre-packaged snacks, hygiene products, coffee, water, and other essential items daily.  Several times a year, we serve simple “one bowl meals” – soups, sandwiches, etc. prepared at our main location.
